Venue
The 11th European Spores Conference will be held at Downing College, one of the 31 constituent colleges of the University of Cambridge. Downing is the oldest of the ‘new’ colleges, being founded in 1800, and is noted for its neo-classical architecture and expanses of green and open space. The conference itself will take place within the college’s exquisitely-appointed Italianate Howard Theatre. Delegates will additionally enjoy the benefits of ensuite accommodation, meals in the main Dining Hall, and free range of the college gardens for networking and relaxation.

Travel
Cambridge is well served by air, coach and rail links. London Stansted is the closest airport for international travellers, where a direct train link takes 30 minutes to get to the city. Other London-centric airports - Luton, Heathrow, and Gatwick - are also connected to Cambridge via train services. Delegates from continental Europe can take the Eurostar to London St Pancras station, which is connected to King's Cross, where a regular direct train journey to Cambridge takes approx. 50 minutes. Downing College is a 10 minute walk or short taxi ride from the train station. UK based delegates are advised to take public transport to Cambridge since parking at the conference venue and in the city centre is extremely limited.
